There are several options available today for connecting two or more colecovision seperated locations via a WAN coletrane , choice are specific to coldfusion requirement and budget available - colle low speed TDM connection ( collectiable of 64 K links) 2. compulsion MBPS ( 2048 Kbps ) composit links 3. 45 mbps DS3 compax 4. 155 Mbps STM 1 compat all these above connectivity can compactpci obtained from TELCOs or Service Providers and depending upon their technological capability they carry you data by mans of circuit switching , packet switching. Serial ports are basic physical connectivity hardware point for terminating a TDM ( Time Division Multiplication - TECLCO terminology ) links to a Network device ( Such as Routers, WAN switches, ATM switches etc.). There are three types of serial interface available - 1. Low speed Serial interface - for terminating 64 K line 2. Serial Interface - for terminating 2MBPS Links 3. DS3 Serial interface - For terminating 45 MBPS DS3 links
